York 10K Team - 2025

On a wet and grey morning on 3 August, 13 intrepid runners took to the streets of York and ran to raise money for The Island.

Joining thousands of other runners, they battled the occasional downpour to complete the challenge, with several gaining their personal best!

Alongside our awesome runners, eight fantastic friends of The Island also took to the streets – volunteering as marshals to line the route, helping runners and cheering them on as they went..

The 2025 York 10K Team raised a over £1695 (11% over the goal of £1500!) for The Island using their determination to support young people in York to access the help they need when times get tough. Helping us to provide the time and space young people need to step away from their challenges, build confidence, try new things with an adult they can trust.
