V&P Islanders take on the Dragon Boat Race

The Island took to the water once again in the 2025 Dragon Boat Race, organised by York Rotary.

Thanks to a generous donation from a closing business, this year our stall was Viking themed with loads of warrior themed prizes!

Our intrepid group of marauding rowers banded together from longtime corporate friends of The Island, Vincent & Partners.

Colleagues became teammates and rowed hard, competing in three heats.

Thanks to the generosity of visitors and spectators, and the fundraising efforts of the Vincent & Partners rowing team, we raised an incredible £1900 for The Island and the Rotary’s chosen charity, Citizen’s Advice York.

Citizen’s Advice York is an amazing service offering free, confidential and impartial advice on a wide range of issues including benefits and tax credits, debt, housing, employment, and much more. We’re so proud to have taken part in a brilliant community event raising money for this incredible charity, as well as our own.
