A big thank you to Ison Harrison
We are delighted to announce that Ison Harrison Solicitors has selected us as one of their chosen charities to receive a £250 donation to celebrate the opening of their York branch.
As a small local children's charity, this kind donation means that we can guarantee a local child or young person with two months worth of mentoring services that will help enhance their mental, emotional and social wellbeing.
Why should businesses support early intervention services?
Early intervention services (like ours) plays an important role within society. Our early intervention services help children and young people to build the vital skills required to remain confident and resilient during periods of crisis so that their overall wellbeing is sustained long-term.
Over the last couple of years, we have seen a huge increase in children and young people needing to access our services, many of which have displayed early signs of mental ill health. Our mentoring programmes, in particular our one-to-one mentoring scheme has high success rates in transforming the lives of local children and young people which has resulted in many going onto leading positive and healthier lives after their mentoring journey has come to an end.
According to The Good Childhood Report produced by The Children's Society, happiness during childhood has eroded over the last decade with many children and young people citing difficulties with their mental wellbeing as well as having poor thoughts and feeling about their appearance.
Early intervention services ensure that obstacles are removed from children and young people's lives, so that they can transition into adulthood and in a positive and productive manner. In its most basic form, using the words for a University of Cambridge research paper: happy children makes happy adults, this will lead them onto making a positive contribution to the workforce, therefore it is important for all businesses to support the next generation of employees to ensure they have the vital life skills required to thrive within the working environment.
