Join the 2026 York Dragon Boat Race – Crew Members Wanted!

The York Rotary Club have announced that the 2026 York Dragon Boat Race will take place on Sunday, 12th July, and we’re looking for enthusiastic crew members and teams to join The Island Team!

Each year, this iconic event brings colour, excitement, and community spirit to the River Ouse – and 2026 will be no exception. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a complete beginner, the Dragon Boat Race is all about fun, teamwork, and supporting great causes.

Build a Team – Make a Difference

We’re inviting local businesses, organisations, groups of friends, and community clubs to form a crew of 20 people and take part in one of York’s most energetic charity events.

No prior experience is needed – just enthusiasm and the willingness to paddle your way to glory!

Each team is asked to raise a minimum of £2,000, and over the years the event has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for local charities.
